WAYS TO VOLUNTEER

There are many ways for you to give of your time and expertise to serve the covenant community. Countless hours are "exchanged" between CB churches that work through existing relationships, geographically proximity or shared initiatives (camps, church plants, etc.). To encourage increased relationships and leverage the depth of talents within CB churches, we have listed some ways that you can jump in and help.

How to volunteer your time

  1. Volunteer at Camp Tadmor
  2. Help staff a gathering event
  3. Help with administrative work
  4. Become an interim pastor

Join the Mission of Tadmor

Tadmor is a 225 acre platform for the gospel that is visited daily by people seeking refuge, renewal, and communion with their Savior. The staff at Tadmor is dedicated to maintaining a beautiful sanctuary void of distractions and full of reminders of the glory of God. The act of caring for camp is an act of service to the church and worship of our God, which it is a privilege to be a part of.

We invite you to partner with us in our mission by signing up for one of our many opportunities.

Spring Break Work Weekend

Spring Break Work Weekend: March 24-26, 2017

Youth groups from across the state join forces as they help us clean camp from the tumultuous winter and take the first steps in preparing for a busy spring and summer schedule here at Tadmor. Spring Break Work Weekend is an amazing opportunity to teach your youth the value of sacrificially serving behind the scenes and the power of the church united together as they work shoulder to shoulder with other students from around the state.

Skilled Worker Weekend: June 2-4, 2017

Join our team of highly skilled tradesmen and women as they come together to serve their Savior by putting their skills to use. Trained carpenters, electricians, plumbers, mechanics, and general handymen converge on Camp Tadmor for one weekend dedicated to building the Kingdom one nail at a time. Help us do the hands-on work required to get camp ready for another year of changed lives.

Winter Bash: tba

The quietness of winter at Tadmor provides a great opportunity to do some serious deep cleaning in our rarely vacant buildings. During this one-day event, we focus on cleaning those "hard to reach" places as we apply good, old-fashioned spit-shine and elbow grease. If you take delight in transforming a dirty, cluttered room into a sparkling and enticing place of comfort, then this event is for you!

Servants At Work (S.A.W.): July 9-13, July 16-21, July 23-28, or July 30-Aug 4

Please call to schedule, space is limited.

The SAW team experience is a week-long intensive focused on pushing eight of your students past their misperceptions and self-focus toward a position of sacrificial leadership and humble service within your youth group. Your students will learn what it means to serve out of their true identities as they live out of the power of Jesus, their Servant King. More...

Renewal Wednesdays: Third Wednesday of every month.

Call to RSVP.

For anyone who already believes in the value of serving the covenant community of churches and is looking for a regular place to connect with others who want to serve, but may not have a lot of time to give, this is for you! At only once a month, you have an opportunity to connect and serve without sacrificing many of your other life commitments. Work starts at 9:00 am and ends at 4:00 pm. Projects will include general maintenance, landscaping, painting, housekeeping, and other tasks that may arise or that fit with your unique gifting and skills.

R.V. Servants: Available select dates throughout the year.

Please call to schedule.

Have you ever dreamed of living at Camp Tadmor, but it just didn't seem feasible? Well, here is your chance to spend anywhere from two days to a month at camp without renting a space or selling your home. All you need is an R.V. or camp trailer and the willingness to volunteer six hours a day. In return, you will get to camp at Meadow Ridge in your R.V. or camp trailer for the duration of your volunteer commitment with us. In other words, instead of paying to rent a camp site, you can volunteer to earn your spot! Volunteer for three weeks and we will give you the fourth week for free! Maximum time of stay with us is one month at any given time, unless other arrangements have been made. Dates are limited. Contact us today for more information! (Compare to the national programs, Workamper or R.V.I.C.).

On Mission Training: Scheduled Daily

Don't see a program that fits your needs? Contact us today and we will work with you to develop a program that fits the desires of your group. Whether you are a group leader looking for a unique teaching opportunity or you want to give back to a bigger vision, we have daily opportunities available.

A Win-Win Relationship

By signing up for one of our many volunteer opportunities you will be joining our dedicated staff as we minister to the Church by providing a place of worship, on mission training, and opportunities for personal renewal.

The guests of Tadmor will be blessed by your service, and you and your group will go home refreshed and better equipped to serve your local church.

Help Staff a Gathering Event

Each gathering event that we do takes a devoted staff (paid and volunteer) to pull it off. They have to see the value of serving the greater body of churches. Currently, Team Barnabas is the main way to serve at an event.

Team Barnabas members are the support staff that make Winter Youth Celebration happen successfully. The name Barnabas, from the bible, means encourager. We ask the team to serve the event by praying and being available to do anything that a church might need. They will also help give directions to people (to breakout rooms, etc) and they help with logistics (room set-ups and clean-up after the event). You must be 19 years old and/or one full year out of high school to serve. The application for Team B can be downloaded here.

If you are interested in serving at any of the other gathering events, please email Jeremy Schumacher at jeremys@cbnw.org.

Help with Administrative Work

There are a hand full of times each year where we could use, well, a hand. For every event we put on, we send out information to our entire mailing list of churches. We can always use some help in the preparation and packing of these mailings. This is a great service project for your churches small groups, youth group or someone that you are discipling. Contact Shirley Radford at shirleyr@cbnw.org for more information.
